Saturday evening over 100 members and significant others, met at Yoder's Country Market for our annual awards banquet. After some social time everyone gathered for a catered meal. FF/EMT Farrell put together a nice video looking back over the past year which was played prior to the awards being given out.

The first presentation of the evening was from Dottie Auker, President of the Liberty Fire Co. Auxiliary, donating a generous check to Fire Co. President Stefan Kuenzli.
Secretary Norm Brower had the honor of presenting 2 members with lifetime membership awards which are for 25 years of active service to the organization. First was Fire Police Bill Shirk whom has faithfully assisted with the fire police his entire time with the organization. Second was FF Brian Johnson whom has held numerous elected offices throughout his time here including President, Board of Trustees including Chairman and Currently as Treasurer.
Next Award was the training award presented to FF Nick Smoker for the hard work he has put forth over the past few years not only taking 100's of hours of training each year, but being very influential in the construction of our Fire Dept. training building on Phillip Rd.
The Distinguished Service award was presented by Board of Trustees Chairman Jeff Sensenig to Karen Buch. Karen has served as the Treasurer for the past 9 years and in that time has assisted with the purchase of 3 pieces of apparatus, a rental property and numerous other tasks that took true dedication to oversee.
Fire Chief Larry Martin thanked the members for what a great organization we have and the spouses & families whom sacrifice precious time to allow the members to keep the dept. operating on a great path.
After his words of thanks Chief Martin presented the Fireman Of The Year. This year, Deputy Chief Jeff Martin was given the award for the countless hours put forth over the past year as chairman of the Air Truck committee and excelling on the fire ground.
The evening wrapped up with Door Prizes from local business's. Thank You to all the local business for donating!
A special thank you the Twin Valley Fire Dept. from Chester Co. (Station 69) for providing coverage for a few hours while members enjoyed the banquet. Although they did not handle any calls for service, they managed to keep themselves occupied around the firehouse as they are known to do during standbys.
